TIP (http://www.tipnl.nl/) is a site for tv-specialists, representatives of Dutch Media Agencies and/or Advertising Agencies, representatives of Channels and their Sales Houses and every interested person in the working of the buying and selling system of TV advertising. TIP offers all the information that is necessary for the buying of commercial time on Television electronically and on one central point.

Within TIP there is a unique concept of cooperation of all Channels and their Sales Houses that aim at the Dutch Market. Almost all these parties participate in TIP.

The Television Advertising Market:
Commercial seconds are offered for sale by the Sales Houses of the Channels. These Sales Houses offer the advertising blocks on a rate card that is published monthly or quarterly. On the rate card is stated which timeslots and programmes can be bought at the price stated. Advertisers give preference to the blocks and programmes in which they like to advertise their commercial. Advertisers are assisted by Advertising Agencies and Media Agencies. Together will be determined when and to which extent will be advertised. The advertising companies take care of the production of the commercial and Media Agencies take care of selection of the broadcast positions (the blocks) from the schedules, which are given at disposal by the Channels. Subsequently these positions are bought from the Sales Houses.

On the website http://www.tipnl.nl/ the information needed for this process has been put together and presented to all who are engaged with the buying of these advertising seconds or are interested in it. Roughly you will find on TIP; rate cards, Sales Promotion, publication dates of the rate cards, programme schedules, programme information, programme profiles, programme changes, ratings and special announcements of the Sales Houses of the specific Channels.

TIP can be found on the worldwide web (http://www.tipnl.nl/), but is also active in an extranet environment to the primary target group (channels/sales houses, media agencies and others who are concerned). Additional on the extranet, information is offered which is case sensitive and is being screened for Internet users (contract information, special conditions etc.).

By offering these information to the market uniformly and unambiguously, the Sales Houses of the Channels offer comfort and transparency in the complex environment of the medium Television in general and the selling of commercial time in special. The site is meant and functions as a leading business-to-business platform as a support of the process of buying and selling of advertising space.
